I guess that time away from work can, in some apsects, be benefical. I have five more weeks before going back to work. I have a list of things I hoping to do during this time, much of which is work related. I spent some time exploring sites yesterday. Will Richardson’s is always good site to look at. I read about bloglines.org and have subsrcibed! It led me all over the country looking at other educator’s websites-pretty cool! I found a few sights to follow and some interesting classroom activites. This little bit that I did took a large chuck of my day. I wonder how I will ever find the time to devote to this when I go back to work? For now, I’ll continue looking around, maybe I’ll even post a comment of someone else’s site-make a connection!
Welcome! I am hoping to connect with other people who want to share what they are doing in the classroom. I have been teaching for 31 years. My experience ranges from residential and day treatment programs working with the ED population to teaching several different special education classes in public school and most recently working as a 6th grade teacher. Presently, I teach four science classes, one reading class and offer support in a learning center to a small group of students.
I am taking part in Williamson Connects, a research and development program sponsored by my district to explore and promote the use of global learning in our community. I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead of us. What a wonderful time to be in education, I am looking forward to the opportunities that the future holds for us as learners! So, what will I blog about? My adventures in learning how to connect with the world and how to promote global connections for my students!
Step one for me-learning how to connect with other people in education.
